The Irish artist and political activist rose to prominence in World Rock Day the late 1970s as the lead singer of the Irish rock band Boomtown Rats ? which achieved popularity as part of the punk rock movement. Midge Ure was a member of Ultravox ? a British new wave band formed in London in 1974.
Thanks to both of them ? the concerts grossed over $127 million!

Live Aid: a festival that made history
